Bizzarre Clothing Regulations For The Golf Course
Posted: under General Interest.
Golf is often considered a classic game and like most it has a highly defined dress code just like most sports these days. This usually requires the golfer to go along to a golfing accessory or outfitters so they can be sure to obtain the correct attire. Of course, each individual golf course tends to have their own specific rules but by knowing what the typically acceptable standards are it will help you to ensure that you have the best experience possible. Remember, many golf courses will refuse to allow you to play if you are not dressed appropriately. Can you imaging the embarrassment of being turned away just because you weren’t wearing the right clothes.
Several things about men and boys are unwelcome on the golf course. Men (and boys) are not permitted to wear shirts without collars or sleeves at any time. The likes of running shoes (usually they have metal spikes) and jogging wear are also not allowed. clothes that have large or offensive logos will also be a reason for a golf club to turn you away. In addition, jeans as well as sandals are generally not permitted either (this applies to women too).
Men can wear shorts however or fitted pants and any shirt they wear must have a collar plus foot ware must consist of sports or golfing shoes. Golf shoes must only have the soft spikes fitted because if a golfer wears shoes with metal spikes the will be asked to leave as they make extra work for the grounds man with the damage the bring. Your shirts can either have long or short sleeves and there is no problem with turtlenecks or pullover sweaters. Trainer socks cannot be worn – they must be of normal length and not contain garish logos so plain is better.
There are some other necessities to take along when golfing like your golf hand towel. Your golf hand towels help you remove the sweat from your golf club before you take your swing. Find ton of great buys on personalized golf hand towels here.
Women should have less of a problem as shorts and fitted skirts are accepted without to many restrictions. Usually women are not permitted to wear pants or anything made of denim. One of the considerations that you should take into account is the length of the shorts and skirt because they must generally be no shorter than 5 inches above the knee. Having said this, each golf course will have it’s own rules and you may finds some that are even stricter. A woman’s shirt must also have a collar and once again a v-neck style sweater is allowed.
Women however, are allowed to wear shirts that do not have a sleeve, if they wish, or one with a short sleeve. As far as socks are concerned, they must be ankle length and their shoes the same conditions as a man but as far as head wear is concerned – a hat or visor is OK. The rules regarding socks for men are the same for women – so nothing garish. In case you take any person with you to the golf course, this visitor should also abide by the same dress codes. As all golf courses are guided by their typical dress code, the best thing to do is to do a prior check through their website or a simple call to them, to check the rules and obligations.
